The Larkspur vacation home is equipped with several TVs and AV equipment.
To ensure you are able to use and access the AV equipment during your stay, please watch the following videos to acquaint yourself with the systems.
Failure to do so may impair your ability to use the systems as once they get messed up they often times need a trained AV technician to come out to repair. The repair guys are backed up 1-2 weeks!
Basically, do not mess with the actual components (TV’s, receivers, players, etc). Use the main remotes to operate everything.
The only exception is to play a DVD (see bottom of this page).
Main TV in Living Room, Master Bedroom and Downstairs TV Room
This video tells you how to use the remote to control the TV and AV systems in the main upstairs room, master bedroom and downstairs TV room. Please do not use the component cabinets or press buttons in the cabinets. If in doubt, hit the OFF button on the remote to start over.
Bedroom TV’s with DirectTV
The video explains how to use the Direct TV remotes in the second upstairs bedroom and two of the downstairs bedrooms. Use the ON & OFF buttons to activate the DirectTV box and the TV. This operates both the TV and the DirectTV simultaneously You do not have to use the Power (PWR) button at all to switch it on or off.
Apple TV in Main Living Room and Master Bed Room
The video explains how to use the remote for Apple TV in the upstairs family room and the master bedroom. Press OFF and once the remote LCD screen has reset, select APPLE and then the MENU button once (if the television screen appears black). Use the circular direction buttons to browse the Apple TV menu. If you wish to access your Apple TV account, navigate to Settings (from the home screen) -> iTunes Store -> Sign In -> and login from there. Press the MENU button to keep go back to the previous menus. Finally to turn Apple TV off, just press the OFF button once on the remote.
DVD Players in Main, Master and Downstairs: use main remote as described and only use the eject button on the DVD player itself. Operate DVD player from remote.
DVD Players in three bedrooms: This is more advanced, use at own risk. You will need to turn on DVD player and then find the input button on the TV or TV remote (not Direct TV remote; the actual TV brand remote). Switch input as needed to send source of DVD player to TV.
